When I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, international management and international marketing were two careers paths that I though sounded super exciting. I had just finished up my studies in the States and wasn’t at all interested in returning to my little hometown in Sweden, so when I saw Meltwater’s ad for International Management Trainee in Oslo I applied immediately.

The “Meltwater” part wasn’t the part that caught my eye. To be honest, I hadn’t heard about Meltwater before, but International and Management were keywords that caught my eye, and, after reading about the company, I was hooked.

I joined the company four years ago and I have seen many colleagues and friends move from the UK to Asia, America, Middle East, Europe, Australia and more. It’s inspiring to see people you have worked with make this leap and as rewards go, no better feeling than having played a part in the personal growth that makes it possible.

I remember very clearly sitting in a conference room at the Crown Plaza in Philadelphia, one cold December afternoon and Jorn asking me very pointedly, “Has anyone ever told you that you’re pompous?” It was a question that made me wonder how someone could see through my over the top confident, “Mr. Professional” act after only a couple hours of interviews.
