Two weeks ago I wrote a blog post asking Movers & Shapers readers what they would want to ask a Meltwater Sales Consultant. Rather than hearing solely from our more professionally matured employees (i.e. our Managing Directors and Area Directors) we thought it might be more relevant, and perhaps more interesting, for you to hear directly from those who just started their careers at Meltwater and what their experiences are really like – instead of just what the bosses say they’re like.
I was able to talk to two of our Sales Consultants from complete opposite sides of the world. I first spoke with John…
Name: Chris Regester
Birthplace: Amersham, Bucks, UK
Joined Meltwater: 2005, Sales Consultant, London, UK
Current Role: 2011, Area Director, Meltwater News, Asia
Who inspires you: Fredrik Reff Sydnes, Managing Director of Meltwater Foundation, Oslo, Norway
My three words to describe Meltwater: Hard-working, Ambitious, Bold
If you ask Chris Regester what makes him proud, he does not answer by telling you about his personal promotions. Or about how he developed Meltwater business units in Hong Kong, Beijing and Singapore, or how he became the Area Director of Asia within three short years of joining the company. No, if you ask Chris Regester what makes him proud he talks about teamwork…
We’ve now posted three posts in our new “Featured Employee” series and have showcased Meltwater employees from all over the globe (literally). So far, we’ve received great feedback and engagement and the profiled employees have received even more support and “high fives.”

I’ll be interviewing a couple of sales consultants (the entry level position) on their initial experiences, personal growth and advice for recent graduates.
In the theme of social media, I’d like…

Haque quickly points out that his advice…
Name: Alicia Kennedy

Joined Meltwater: 2006, Sales Consultant, Sydney, Australia
Current Role: 2011, Area Director, Meltwater News, Australia and New Zealand
Who inspires you: Heidi Islann, Area Director, Strategic Accounts, Meltwater Group, Oslo, Norway
My three words to describe Meltwater: Challenging, Ambitious, Safe
If you ever wondered if Meltwater was a great place for graduates to work, Alicia Kennedy is the person to ask. In 2006, she put her pen down on the final exam of her Commerce degree … and 14 hours later, she entered the Sydney Meltwater office and began her new career.
“Landing the job at Meltwater felt like a real win…
